One of the many benefits of living in Southern California is having access to some of the most renowned influential people in the world. This month you can witness the return of Steve Martin on the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza stage, just a short drive away from your luxurious living space in Northridge. As a part of the Distinguished Speaker Series of Southern California, Steve Martin offers a chance to see brilliance, talent and humility take the stage and offer sage advice.

Steve Martin began his journey to fame by writing for the 1960s Smothers Brothers comedy show. He began standup comedy as well, eventually doing many routines for Saturday Night Live, the Tonight Show and several other comedy shows. His career soon shifted into that of full-time acting. He has appeared (and helped write) numerous comedies for which he will be remembered for generations, like The Three Amigos, The Jerk and Father of the Bride. He has won an honorary Academy Award, a Lifetime Achievement Award in Comedy, several critics’ awards and has been nominated for several Golden Globe awards.

More recently, Martin has pursued his prolific career in music. From a young age he could play the banjo very well, and even incorporated it into his standup routines occasionally. He has recorded several bluegrass albums with the help of the producer of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. Martin has won five Grammies for both his comedy albums and for his bluegrass albums.

Recently Steve Martin has taken up standup comedy again along with his bluegrass performances. He returns to Southern California on January 10th, 2017 as one of six of the Distinguished Speaker Series of Southern California. He also has stops at Pasadena, Redondo Beach and Beverly Hills.

Seeing one of the comedy greats of our time is an opportunity you won’t want to miss. Steve Martin’s performance is just one of the many incredible events you can have access to by living in on of our luxurious Northridge apartments.
